Tuberculosis control during COVID-19

GGD South Limburg is forced to take measures related to the coronavirus to prevent spread. At the same time, tuberculosis is a condition that can also lead to significant disease and spread. As a result, some tasks have been temporarily discontinued but some examination and treatment continues to prevent unnecessary illness and spread. The information below will apply for the coming period.

All examinations on tuberculosis and tuberculosis infections. These include referrals, inquiries on contacts of people with infectious tuberculosis or examinations of people with a greater risk of tuberculosis.
Treatment of tuberculosis and tuberculosis infections.
Initial screenings for tuberculosis in recently arrived migrants and asylum seekers from countries where tuberculosis is common.

Contact the GGD on 088-8805074 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays between 08.30–12:00 o’clock so that we can take measures in case of a necessary short-term appointment. We disinfect objects like door handles, regularly, we ask everyone to wash hands and we make sure that there is enough space in the waiting room to create sufficiently distance from others.

The vaccination of children eligible for the BCG vaccine will resume from May 2020. If applicable, your child will receive an invitation. Other tasks, such as follow-up checks for migrants and asylum seekers, will be resumed later.
